Shelby County (Memphis), Davidson County (Nashville Metro - consolidated city-county government), Knox County (Knoxville), Hamilton County (Chattanooga), Rutherford County (Murfreesboro), and Williamson County (Franklin) have extensive online systems. Davidson County is a consolidated city-county government (Metro Nashville-Davidson); services are delivered through the Metro government. Rural TN counties vary in online access.

Example: $300,000 home → $75,000 assessed value → tax rate applied to $75,000.
REAPPRAISAL CYCLE: TN counties are on 4-year or 6-year reappraisal cycles (most are 4-year); significant assessment changes can occur in reappraisal years.
KEY RELIEF PROGRAMS (apply with County Trustee or TN Department of Revenue):
ELDERLY AND DISABLED TAX RELIEF PROGRAM: State pays a portion of property taxes for qualifying seniors 65+ and permanently disabled residents; income limit $31,600; asset limit $40,000 (excluding primary home and one vehicle); apply with County Trustee January 1 through April 5 each year; amount varies
