County-specific variations apply
North Dakota is one of the most rural states nationally. Distances between communities can be 50-100 miles, and many rural counties have very limited local senior services. Cass County (Fargo), Grand Forks County, Burleigh County (Bismarck), Ward County (Minot), and Williams County (Williston) have the most resources. Deeply rural counties (Slope, Billings, Adams, Hettinger, Grant, Sioux, etc.) may have minimal senior center presence; AAA outreach workers cover these areas.
