How do I access court records?

Circuit Court Clerk / Superior Court Clerk (county level - each of Indiana's 92 counties) / Indiana Courts online portal (statewide)
Step by Step

How to do it

  1. Identify what type of record you need: Circuit Court (felonies, civil, family, probate, small claims), Superior Court (same jurisdiction in most counties - Indiana reorganized its courts), or Indiana Court of Appeals / Indiana Supreme Court
  2. Search online through Indiana's statewide court records portal:
  3. MYCASE (Indiana Courts): publicaccess.courts.in.gov - free public search for case information statewide; search by name or case number; covers Circuit, Superior, and other trial courts
  4. For full case documents or certified copies: contact the Circuit/Superior Court Clerk in the county where the case was filed
  5. In-person access: visit the courthouse clerk's office; bring photo ID and case details
