  • Connecticut Homecare Program for Elders (CHCPE): Connecticut's major Medicaid-funded home care program - allows qualifying seniors to receive care at home rather than in a nursing facility; apply through DSS at (855) 626-6632.
  • CHOICES (Medicare counseling): free, unbiased Medicare help available through Connecticut's 5 AAAs - call (800) 994-9422 or contact your local AAA.
  • Connecticut Renter's Rebate Program: low-income renters age 65+ or totally disabled may receive a rebate of a portion of rent paid as a property tax adjustment - apply through town's Social Services department or tax assessor by October 1.
