County-specific variations apply

Each of Florida's 67 county sheriffs operates a separate jail and maintains its own inmate roster. Online search functionality varies - large urban counties (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Orange, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Duval) have robust online inmate search systems; some smaller rural counties may have limited online access requiring a direct phone call to the jail. Note: Miami-Dade has a separate Department of Corrections (not the Sheriff) operating the county jail.
