County-specific variations apply

NM's 33 county Sheriff's departments each operate their own detention facilities. Bernalillo County's Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Albuquerque is the largest county detention facility in New Mexico and has good online access. Santa Fe County, Doña Ana County, and San Juan County also have reasonable online systems. Very rural counties (Harding, De Baca, Catron, Guadalupe, Sierra, Union, etc.) have very small detention facilities - direct phone contact is typically necessary.
