County-specific variations apply

Oklahoma County (OKC) has the Oklahoma County Detention Center (OCDC) - the largest county jail in Oklahoma; good online access. Tulsa County Jail also has reasonable online access. Smaller/rural Oklahoma county jails may have limited or no online search capability - direct phone calls to the Sheriff's Office are necessary.

Oklahoma Notes

Important state-specific details

  • ODOC manages state prisons including Oklahoma State Penitentiary (McAlester), Joseph Harp Correctional Center (Lexington), Mabel Bassett Correctional Center (McLoud), and 20+ facilities statewide; Offender Lookup at oklahoma.gov/doc.
  • County jails operated by County Sheriffs - separate from ODOC; recent arrests will NOT appear in ODOC database.
  • Oklahoma Sex Offender Registry: homelandsecurity.ok.gov/ok-sor - searchable online.
  • TRIBAL CONSIDERATIONS: Oklahoma has by far the most tribal nations of any state; McGirt v. Oklahoma (2020 Supreme Court decision) and its aftermath significantly affected criminal jurisdiction in eastern Oklahoma; tribal, state, and federal authority may overlap or shift depending on specific circumstances; contact tribal law enforcement for tribal members or tribal land incidents.
  • For visitation, phone calls, sending money, commissary, or mailing to an Oklahoma inmate: inmateaid.com has ODOC and county jail facility details.
