How do I access court records?

County District Court (county level - District Courts serve Utah's 29 counties in 8 districts) / Utah Court of Appeals / Utah Supreme Court (state level)
Step by Step

How to do it

  1. Identify what type of record you need: District Court (all civil, felonies, domestic relations, probate, juvenile), Justice Court (minor civil and criminal within cities/counties), Utah Court of Appeals, or Utah Supreme Court
  2. Search online:
  3. UTAH COURTS ONLINE CASE SEARCH: utcourts.gov (Utah State Courts website) - Utah offers comprehensive public access to case information and court documents through its eCourt/CORIS system

Third District (Salt Lake, Summit, Tooele counties - Salt Lake City), Fourth District (Utah, Juab, Millard, Wasatch counties - Provo), Second District (Weber, Davis, Morgan counties - Ogden), and Fifth District (Iron, Beaver, Washington counties - St. George) are the most active.
