County-specific variations apply

Wyoming's 23 counties each operate county jails through their Sheriff's Offices. Laramie County (Cheyenne), Natrona County (Casper), Fremont County (Lander/Riverton), and Teton County (Jackson) have the best online inmate tools. Very small Wyoming counties (Niobrara, Goshen, Weston, Crook, etc.) have very small jails and may require direct calls to the Sheriff's Office. Fremont County covers the Wind River Indian Reservation - some arrests may involve tribal law enforcement, FBI, or Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) rather than county; complex jurisdictional issues.
